Barb Alverson Biggerstaff grew up in the Black Hills of SD, making and selling bead work since high school. In the late 90's she helped start Art Forms an artist co-op in Hill City. She lived on a ranch outside of Black Hawk, SD with her first husband for 32 years, until his passing in 2007. Barb was in a bad car accident in 2009, suffering a traumatic brain injury. She had to relearn and regain her hand eye coordination. While attending cognitive retraining in early 2010 she met and fell in love with Jaime Biggerstaff. A Valentine's Day wedding in 2011 in Tucson, AZ following a gem show, is proof that God has a plan for us all, even when disaster strikes, there was a rainbow with a silver lining. As part of her therapy she taught Jaime how to bead which helped her to relearn and remember her creative side. They have been traveling in a RV across the country doing art shows since Oct. 2010. "It has been a wonderful healing journey" She loves nothing more than to take a pile of gemstones, beads, and a piece of leather and turn them into a beautiful creation bringing joy to others.
Jaime Biggerstaff is from Winona,MN
Barb is one of the co-founders of the Healing Arts Center of Borrego, in Borrego Springs, CA
They now live in Royal, Arkansas between Hot Springs and Mt Ida, crystal capital of the U.S.
